Tax incentives and sustainable mobility: the major themes that marked the final day of the Business Leaders Meeting

The second and final day of the Business Leaders Meeting at the 2025 Feria de las 2 Ruedas provided valuable tools for industry stakeholders. Juan Fernando Pulgarín, Legal Director of Fenalco Antioquia, highlighted the tax benefits of purchasing electric vehicles: “Electric motorcycles up to $2,490,000 are exempt from VAT, and buyers can deduct 1% of the value from their income tax return.” Meanwhile, Paola Guerra, Manager of Factible, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurs understanding these regulations: “Electronic invoicing and taking advantage of these incentives is not a burden, but an opportunity for growth.”

In the second conference, José Esteban Rojas Proaño, Director of the Virtual Business Center (CVN), analyzed the landscape of sustainable mobility in Colombia: “We are leaders in Latin America in motorcycle production, and although only 5% of the motorcycle fleet is electric, sales of these vehicles grew by more than 80% in 2024.” He noted that while most electric units are still imported, consumers prefer them due to urban congestion.

The expert also highlighted the role of the trade fair as an industry catalyst: “Every year we see incredible progress. This space not only showcases innovation but also strengthens alliances and promotes road safety.”

With these reflections, the 2025 Feria de las 2 Ruedas reaffirms its position as the epicenter of transformation for the sector, where business, technology, and sustainability converge to accelerate the future of mobility in Colombia.
